Finding your place in the world. While walking along the beautiful and serene island of Hydra, I had this vision, if you will. The ocean front with plunging rocks and endless sun made me think that I was literally holding the world in the palm of my hand. I felt like my life has been filled with tremendous opportunity that I am just here to tap into.

Coming up are college applications, and I can apply to a college that I want to go to, in a place I want to live. It's all open to me, the world is open. After college I can move where I want to, let my life take me where it shall.

After meeting a distant cousin of mine in Greece, who moved there because of a boyfriend that she had recently broke up with, I realized I am an individual with a story, with a place to go, with a place to be, with things to do, try, see, experience, and get a hold of. She told me one thing: After breaking up with her boyfriend of 3 years, she realized she really did not want to move back to Boston where she was originally from. This surprised me to the utmost. Knowing how hard break ups are, I would just want to go back to my comfort zone, and being able to keep taking risks would be hard. But she knew that she loved that place, and with no strings holding her down, why not live where she loved, living in love.

I just want to try everything. I want to learn every language. The word "opportunity" does not suffice how I feel about the action. The action takes over the word, consumes it, leaves it blank...while it is running about and exploring the universe.

"We were meant to live for so much more.

Have we lost ourselves?

Somewhere we live inside..."

-Switchfoot

Turkey was awesome, which is an understatement. The culture was so different than I'm used to. Although I could not really sleep with an Imam going off at 4 a.m., It felt wonderful to be let in to a religion and given an experience unable to be found in my own surroundings. Travel gives the beholder a vision. Travel gives the world. Travel shows what it can be, what life can be, what you can be, what you are able to be, do, see, feel, touch, taste...

Although this is random, it really expresses a ton of feelings that have been swimming around for awhile...I'm glad I've gotten to share it, even if no one reads it, I just like being able to vent, write, create, whatever. Travel is a wonderful experience filled with opportunity. I love it.
